Affordable High Capacity Venue in Whangarei
Our campground is hired as an exclusive-use venue, rather than individually booking each room or dorm, so it’s great for any large group with a need to accommodate while keeping costs down.
82 Interior Beds
HolyGround accommodates 82 people on beds, with space for up to 100 inside. Our large field also has many spaces for both tents and campervans upon request.
9 Private Rooms Upstairs
Each room has a capacity between one and four beds, allowing for adaptability to your group’s specific needs. Each Room’s floor space can be used to maximize capacity.
2 Large Dormitories
HolyGround Parua Bay boasts two high capacity, air-conditioned dormitories, each with 24 and 33 beds respectively, with adjoining bathroom facilities to both.
Wheel-chair Accesibility
Our nine upstairs rooms are able to accommodate for those with restricted mobility. With our rooms with fewer sleeping space allowing greater maneuverability.

Please supply your own audiovisual equipment, power cords, multi-boxes and instruments. An allocation of firewood will be provided depending on your event length, while additional firewood will be available for purchase, we also welcome hirers to supply their own.
Private Upstairs Rooms
5 private rooms with 2 sets of bunk beds, sleeping four people. Each room opens off the main hall and has space for an additional two mattresses on the floor of each room if required (20 people on bunks, 8 people on mattresses, 28 total).

3 additional rooms open off of the main hall, configured as follows: one room with a single bunk bed, a second room with a bunk bed: double bed below with a single bed up top, and a third room with one double bed (5 People in bunks or beds total when not sharing the double beds).

Each of the upstairs room is wheel-chair accessible.
High Capacity Dormitories
The Dorms sleep 33 and 24 people on bunk beds in large, air conditioned and carpeted rooms (57 People in total).

Up to 10 additional mattresses can be placed comfortably on the floor across the two dorms for additional capacity needs.

Neither of the two dormitories are wheel-chair accessible.
Additional Accommodation Areas
Additional indoor sleeping arrangements can be available by prior arrangement, up to a maximum of 100 people overnight in the main building.
Given the large field HolyGround has to offer, several tent and campervan locations are able to be made available without significantly affecting activity space. Four caravan electric points are also available.
Please note any tent, campervan, or overflow sleeping must be approved by HolyGround Parua Bay management before arrival and may involve additional charges.

Please supply your own tea-towels and dishwashing liquid. Cleaning and Dining supplies are provided by HolyGround Parua Bay.
Our Forest
In HolyGround’s forest there is:
– A wide variety of native New Zealand Fauna, Flora, Birds, and other animals
– Trails through the bush connecting back to the grounds
– Several prayer/ reflection spaces
– If you find any invasive plants, dangerous trees, or alive or dead invasive animals: please report them to HolyGround Parua Bay management
When in the bush please DO NOT:
– Go near or touch Traps & Bait Stations for invasive pests (these are marked)
– Go off the trails through the bush
– Throw away any form of waste into the bush
– Disturb the bush by way of taking, moving, or destroying anything: dead or alive

Outside at HolyGround you’ll find:

– Wrap around deck with plenty of seating and a beautiful view
– Space for tents and campervans at either ends of the property, with electrical connection points
– Lines for clothes drying
– Zero tolerance for Smoking, Drinking or Vaping

Water Activities Nearby and On-Site
The bay across the road is:
– Safe enough for less confident swimmers
– Suitable for raft building, kayaking, swimming and boating
– A popular place for leaders to declare their faith through baptisms
– A public beach, so please respect all other people and groups when there

– Disregard appropriate health & safety procedures when on, around, or in the water
– Drink, Smoke or Vape on the Grounds or at the beach opposite.
All public places (beaches included) are smoke-free, vape-free, and alcohol-free within Whangarei District.
HolyGround Parua Bay’s Waterslide is available for an additional hire charge
Kayaks, Paddles, and Life Jackets are available for an additional hire charge
A boat ramp is available a few minutes drive away from the venue.
